So upon visiting Davis, I went to run errands in North Hall and came out to this scene. It was hard to see, there was a fairly large crowd around the protesters, but you could still see the orange spray, like smoke, spreading around the area. It got in all our eyes and lungs… I can’t even imagine what being pepper sprayed to the face is like.
It sickens me to think that anyone could sleep at night pepper harming completely peaceful protestors like this, especially students—normal people that could be their siblings or cousins or friends. Apparently, some of the cops were smiling throughout the whole thing. I suppose that second one in the video only joined to get some of the action.
Shame!
